Also the use of apostrophe in the possessive case

Sorry people, I forgot to ask also about the use of apostrophe in the same sentence: WHy an apostrophe is not used in the word "Obama" (Obama's transition team), when the transition team belongs to Obama?

There's no apostrophe because of the article. Obama is used adjectivally and the modifies team. The genitive could be used but the article would have to be left out:
