Alright or all right? Difference to 'fine'

Hello.

1) What is the right way to answer the question 'How are you?'

Is it "I'm alright" or "I'm all right"?

2) Is the meaning slightly different from 'fine' (a little less than that) or is it the same?

Thank you.
