already forbid..

Hi, I have seen the following sentence at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3990134/site/newsweek/
Many European countries already forbid sex selection; should there be similar regulations in the United States?
Is the article correct in using forbid instead of forbidden?

Thanks for the reply, the reason I have raised this question is due to there is an already before forbid. Isn't that after already, we should use past participle, in this case, forbidden?

already does not require a past participle.

-- Do you want a pen?
-- No, thank you. I already have one.

-- Did you know that the world is round?
-- Yes, I already knew that!

-- You should always write down the phone number of each student.
-- We already do that.
