This expression has the speculative thought of the Greek philosophers. The proposition that must follow from the major and minor premises of a syllogism.
the major premise: B is absolutely not in C. the minor premise: A is no more in C than B is.or A is in C in what degree which (=what degree) is no greater than B is the proposition: A is more absolutely not in C
Please note: the definition of the "no more than" in dictionary is [in no greater degree.....than] Here, not use the "to degree" but "in degree" instead. So, the "degree" is an imaginary value that is constant and set in advance and that acts as the real subject in which the action of the verb of “being in C” is made. That "degree" is an expectation not ending in that degree.
[in no greater degree….than]is: Than the expected degree of B in C (B absolutely does not exist in C)----the expected degree of A in C is lower. That proves that A, than B that has been proved absolutely not exist in C, is more absolutely not in C.
