Alphanumeric/Serial numbers in sentences

Hello everyone,

My question is: How does one write alphanumeric values into a sentence? Should they be in quotes, commas, something else or left as they are?

For example,

"James found that code 0WHLN8 was needed."

What would be the proper way to write that?
