I read in the Michigan textbook a letter in which there is a phrase I don't understand :

Along the other lines , everything has been fine here . And how have you been doing ?How have things been going? I've been thinking of you a lot . Please give my best regards to everybody - Love

What does the phrase Along the other lines here mean ?

What does the phrase Along the other lines here mean ?The writer seems to be indicating that he is now changing to another topic. You can do this in various ways, eg by saying 'Moving to another topic'.

The common phrase omits 'the' (ie 'Along other lines'). It also suggests not that you are changing to another topic but that you are going to discuss the current topic in another way, from another point of view.
