along vs through

Hello, everyone.

I came across the following:

"In August 2010, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ToddHoward(video_game_designer) revealed Bethesda were currently working on a game that had been in development since the release of Oblivion, and that progress was very far along."

-Can along there be subsituted with through?

Thank you.
