No. It is possible to BE alone without FEELING lonely. Someone might be alone in a room and appreciate the solitude and quiet. But it's also possible that the person might find it lonel

Alone is a state of physical presence. There is nobody around you => you are alone

Lonely is a state of mind. There are lots of people around you, but you don't feel like you have anything in common with them. You are lonely.

Alone is not interchangeable with lonely because each describes different things. Sometimes you can be both alone and lonely
