Almost injured twice

1) I was almost injured twice today.

Is it clear whether I was injured once or not at all?

Would this one work:

2) I was almost injured twice today. But because of Tom's stupidity I ended up being injured three times.

Gratefully,

Navi.

It is not clear. Perhaps you escaped injury two times.

navitasan2) I was almost injured twice today. But because of Tom's stupidity I ended up being injured three times.

No. That is a contradiction.
