In recent years, food waste has become a significant problem that affects our daily activities and the environment. For this reason, each individual should take responsibility for reducing a huge amount of waste created. This essay will suggest three measures to address this issue including applying biomass systems, passing new law and education. Furthermore, the reason why education is the most effective solution is explained in this essay.

There is no doubt that biomass energy plays an essential role in waste reduction. First of all, food waste will be utilized as alternative sources to create electricity and energy for our daily life and manufacturing. The greatest advantage of this green-energy is its delimitation and efficiency. However, biomass plants are too expensive to construct. For example, in Korea, the biomass factory called “Seoki” cost 10 billion USD to build, which can not be afforded by developing countries such as Vietnam. In addition, this environmental-friendly measure raises concerns about numerous environmental problems such as global warming or air pollution. For this reason, this measure is not the most productive

Secondly, passing heavy laws is another potential way to reduce the amount of waste people create. For example, the government can increase the taxes for throwing away garbage. Consequently, the waste disposal will be restricted and each citizen also builds a new habit of using and recycling food. On the other hand, the most important consideration is the financial problem for the poor because people living in poverty don’t have enough money to pay taxes for waste. In the worst situation, it leads to several social issues such as economic inequality or public debt. In short, despite a huge positive effect, a new rule has detrimental impacts.
