Why stick at sloe-eyed? Hazel-eyed would be nearer - in that hazels and almonds are both nuts - but just as wrong since almond-eyed refers to shape, not colour. Of course, there's still pop-eyed, boss-eyed and ***-eyed to go; and probably quite a few others.
