1. You can complain all you want.
2. You can cry all you want.

What is the function of "all" in the above and similar sentences ?
It seems to be functioning as an adverb meaning "as much as".
But although this usage is common, I couldn't find anything on it in the dictionaries.

I don't see a conflict between 'standard' and 'informal'.

I would say that it is standard, but on the other hand, you are not likely to have any reason to use it in formal writing.
