All the guilty past and all my boast?

Hi. Please help me with these.

1. In the hymn named "Everything is changed," there is a line (or is it?) that is written:

Now my feet are walking the pathway to heav-en; All the guilt-y past now is under the blood.

Question: Could we use the word "all" with the word "past" (in this hymn lyric context)? I think the word "past" is a singular noun.

2. Another hymn named "Sins of years are wash'd away." there is a line (or is it?) that is written:

All my boast is in the cross, When I to the foun-tain go.

Question: Could we use the word "all" with the word "boast" (in this hymn lyric context) I think the word "boast" is countable.

Yes. Past is a noun here.

All the past is behind us.

Look not to the past, but to the future.

Hi. Thank you.

AnonymousI said that I thought the word "past" is a singular noun, meaning (I think) it takes either the definite or indefinite article. I think the word "pen" is a countable noun (as such requires either the definite or indefinite article) Now I don't think we would write:

All the pen is given out.

I believe it has to be "All the pens are given out."
