For the time being, learning a foreign language at the early stage of life is becoming trendy. Some says that it is better for children, but others think that it is the best for them to learn a foreign language when they are a bit older. In the following essay, the advantages and disadvantage of leaning foreign language at the early age will be carefully discussed.

To begin with, undeniably, learning a foreiggn language in the earliest grades brings various benefits.Firstly, children can learn faster than adults. They are young , and enthusiastic to find out about new things, which may seem to be an interest to them. Secondly, in this modern world, knowing a foreign language properly is fairly necessary. Due to the collaboration and co-operation between people from different countries, new kinds of language will evidently adapted and popularised in a community. Consequently, a proper base of language knowledge at the early age may facilitate their future job and career.

On the other hand, also there are some serious bad effects stemming from early learninng foreign languages. First and the foremost, at this stage of life, children had better focus on their mother tongue rather than other languages. If children are made to learn too many languages at the same time, it will lead to language disorder. This syndrome may be a hindrance which prevents kids from learning languages, even their mother tongue. Furthermore, as children are quite naughty, they may prefer pleasure to work, meaning that they can not totally concentrate on learning languages, which needs times and hard work. Owing to the unwillingness to learn, this will be time-consuming. Besides, it prevents the kids’s developments in both mental and physical health.

To put it in a nutshell, I personally believe that children should start learning a foreign language at the earliest grades of school, but to a moderate degree and with a suitable methodology.
