"all socks are in the washing machine"

Dear All,

What is the most natural way of saying: "all my socks are in the washing machine"? Like in this situation: "I ran out of socks today and all my socks are in the washing machine, so I didn't put on my socks this morning".

Another question: If you had to tell this situation to someone ("I ran out... this morning"), how would you put it? It sounds a bit unnatural now, the way I explain it to you guys..

Thanks in advance!

hmm... I'll tell you how I would go about doing it (It all depends on how much time I have and how dramatic I want it to sound ) 1)direct "I'm out of socks today, they are all in the washing machine" 2)slightly more dramatic "I woke up today morning to realize all my socks were in the washing machine, so I aplogize in advance for any unusual stench "
