I am studying about the interchange of degrees of comparison. I would like to know whether there are any rules governing the use of 'all other' and 'any other'.
1. Lead is heaviest of all metals. Lead is heavier than all other metals. Lead is heavier than any other metal.
I feel that when we use 'all other', we should use plural form of the noun and when we use any other we should use singular form.
Thanks, Richards.
