hi i would like to know the difference between: "all" and "all of"...for example, which sentence is correct: "all my friends" or "all of my friends" and why..thank you

Hi Robert, They are interchangeable before a noun-- in your example, both are fine. Before a pronoun, however, you must use 'all of'-- 'all of us are going to Sri Lanka'.
