My non-native English speaking friends think the phrase in green needs to be revised. Their revised sentences are given below.

'acquire' is the wrong word in all cases. It's not often used with 'work' except in phrases where work is a modifier, like acquire work skills , acquire work experience , or acquire good work habits . 'allotted to' is OK (3).
