All I know is what I have words for

Hello again!

The following is a famous quote from Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889–1951).

The limits of my language are the limits of my mind. All I know is what I have words for.

Could you tell me the meaning of the second sentence?
Does it mean "I can express ideas clearly and elegantly for what I know."
Thank you.

No. Broadly speaking, it means that you don't know something if you can't express it in words. Clive

Has anyone asked Ludwig where human beings, starting from cavemen's grunts, got all the words we have today? Apparently, if you believe this, we are more limited than we used to be.
