There are other problems in your sentence. An important point is that you can't refer to people as 'it'.

Case AssignerThe adjective alienate is used with from sth. / someb.
Adding to what has already been said, the word "alienate" is not an adjective. Rather it's a verb. When someone is "alienated", it could be "by" or "from" something. Without a tangible context, I'd say both can be used. Aliented can be used as adjective but only in past participl

You've got good advice in the above. If you don't want to listen to it, why do you post? This should be OK, as mentioned by others:

He alienated himself from the rest of the class due to his behavior.

By
would work in different constructions:

He managed to alienate his class by his behavior.

Sorry for my terrible mistake... Yes, you are right, it is a verb. I was confused with another form of alienate when looking it up. What I wanted to say is that in this construction from has to be used. In other constructions by can be used, depending on the context.... Again, sorry

thanks everyone.

Marius Hancu>>>i am greatful for the advice and on the contrary i do listen to it - the fact of the matter is: I can't just accept the first thing i hear/read - instead, i like to explore different solutions. How would my mind develop without such a strategy? This is why i post and why i'm so greatful for replies.
thanks very much Marius.
