Would it be correct to say the following: We are interested in the memoirs of oligarchs, but the are far from us, and their lives are so alien to ours. The point is that the lives of oligarchs totally differ from ours, and they are also alien to our lives.

Hi Snuppelina. You've written "the" instead of "they", immediately after "but". Other than that, this sentence is perfect English and very clear.

I would probably have written "alien to us" rather than "alien to ours" - it makes a little more sense to be alien to people than to be alien to lives.
But what you wrote is not wrong.
