Aleksander Blok: Pale Tales. An excerpt.

Could you please point to the mistakes and faults I've made in the translation? Here is the link to the original poem in Russian: http://www.artint.ru/cfrl/texts/poetry/blok/blok1/vol2/172.htm

- Look around, dear friend, your Elf
is gone,
Get to know the transience of Time!
- so an evil mask is laughing;
the malicious mask is looking
at a humble mask:

- Look around, the knight of darkness
spins a tale for a maiden,
Look, the knight is waiving snares
For his secret task.

So the masks are passing whisper
the malicious - to the humble;
is ablush the maiden-mask.

And is darker than the darkest
Curtain on the glass
The dark knight -he's but a daydream,

And the arrow-like eyelashes
Of the mask are drooping low,
In her dream she tells the dark knight:
- Let a smile your lips to bow...

He is weaving fairy-tales,
Leaning on his sword,
She is hearkening, in veil,
And, behind them, distant meetings
Dance to muted chords.

How the blush of hers is heating!
Look, her shoulder line is odd.
And, behind them, distant meetings
Dance to muted chords.
