Albert Einstein was a/the famous scientist.

I think its Albert Einstein was the famous scientist.

If I am wrong please explain because I think "the" is always used for specific or particluar thing.

Albert Einstein was the famous scientist. You might say this when Albert Einstein was the famous scientist that was being referred to beforehand.

-- Yes. Albert Einstein was the famous scientist.


Note how the last part is equivalent to:
-- Yes. Albert Einstein was the famous scientist referred to above.

You would almost always need to use "a famous scientist" in your sentence.
Your sentence is similar to sentences such as "Amy is an English teacher" or "John is a doctor".

In order to use "the famous scientist", you would need more in the sentence. For example:
