Alarm clock ring

Hello,

I'm looking for a proper word to finish the sentence: "I was awakened by the third .....". Should it be "alarm clock ring" or just "alarm" or maybe a different word?

Thank you

Hotmale Should it be "alarm clock ring" or just "alarm" or maybe a different word? 'alarm clock ring' is possible. 'alarm' alone is more vague.

'alarm clock ring' is possible. 'alarm' alone is more vague. Was it a fire alarm?

I might just say

I didn't wake up until the third time the alarm clock went off.

But that's not the same sentence, of course.
