Vocabulary

airtime as in mobile phone

Does airtime means the time someone spends on incoming OR outcoming calls?

Further, if a mobile phone company indicates an airtime rate, then does it mean they will charge both the outcoming and incoming calls?

Thanks a lot.

All of the plans I've had (in America and Japan) charge for both. A small exception is that usually the first minute of an incoming call is free.
