Aircrafts?

I read about an accident which almost happened here: http://globalnews.ca/news/3589493/san-francisco-air-canada-taxi-way-runway/

This sentence attracted my attention: "There were a number of aircrafts on the taxiway, who had lights on." Is aircrafts commonly used as a plural in American English?

Aircraft is non-count. There are other problems with the sentence - "who" referring to a vehicle, and missing "their."
