Aim/goal/objective

Hellow,
Is it some meaning difference between aim, goal and objective when we say about research ones, or discussion ones? Which word is more preferable here?
Thanks in advance

Greetings!

An aim is a focal point, something to keep your eye while goal is something you work toward, a set-point. Last but not the least, an objective is a more strategic goal, and usually indicates more planning or organization.

In general writing of a research project, I would choose "goals" or "objectives" more commonly, but for discussion point
