Aim at/Target

Hi,

I’m not sure about the usage of ‘aiming at’ or ‘targeting’ in the following sentence. Are they correct? Or is there a more appropriate word for this context?

“I guess the incident was an attempted murder aiming at (or targeting) you”

Thank you in advance.

The word you want is "targeting". (Not "aiming at". That's just pointing a weapon at someone.)
