agree vs subscribe to

I came across the expression "subscribe to sb." when watching TV. I'm curious that when we should use "subscribe to sb" instead of "agree"? What's the difference?

I've never heard that to mean "agree". Perhaps it means to subscribe to the person on Facebook or Twitter?

'Subscribe to' is absolutely different from 'agree' and is used in different content.

no, I don't mean that. I heard it from a TV news that some media comments on a country's policy and the state leader said he subscribes to them. I did some search and located the following definition:

Definition:

to adopt as a belief

Usage example:

I subscribe to your view on abortion

I subscribe to your view on abortion. Emotion: yes = I agree with your view on abortion.
