Agree to or agree with

Hello everyone,

Is the preposition "to" correctly used after "agree" in the following sentence?

- The doctor and the squire agreed to Captain Smollet's suggestions, and then the captain left the cabin.

Or must it be "with"?

Regards

I would use 'agree to' with 'suggestion' where it is equivalent to 'plan' or 'proposal'.

I would use 'agree with' with 'suggestion' where it is equivalent to 'idea', 'opinion' or 'view'.
