Ago with present tense

When I was watching a movie with English subtitle, I noticed this sentence "This is three days ago."
I know "ago" is used with past tense but how is it possible here and what is the meaning of this sentence. Can you put any alternative sentence for it?

It is hard to comment without knowing the full context. "This is three days ago" is unusual, as you noticed, but it is possible in some circumstances, for example if someone is commenting on a picture or video that they are looking at now but was taken three days ago. As I say, the full context is needed.
