Ago

Hello,

1. I have not seen her since I left school 3 years ago.

I want to know whether the simple past tense after the word "since" can have the adverbial of time like (ago ) as written above.

Thanks.

"Since" is qualifying "I left school" and "I left school" is qualifying "3 years ago". You could not have, "I have not seen her since 3 years ago".
