Can yot tell me if it is possible to say HE LIVED EIGHTY YEARS instead of HE LIVED TO BE EIGHTY?

That's the trouble with English-- there are relatively few set ways of saying things. I would be surprised if any one of those five forms were significantly more common than the others.
