Question

Hi. I'v been through various online dic's without luck.Can someone pronounce these for me?Thanks,Eden

My copy of Collins doesn't have "Agathis", but for "basswood" gives only one pronunciation, with "bass" as in the fish, and not as in the singer.

If it will keep this thread alive, then yes: I am indeed a "***", though I would prefer to be thought of as a "***" in the sense which predominates among the elderly in Southern Appalachia, who, it should be said, are a rhotic and therefore a decent and kindly folk, quite distinct from the Bostonians or the British, who, it should be said, are attempting to destroy our language, quite in keeping with their infantile left-leaning politics, though what more we could expect from a city/nation of poofters I don't know.
