I was about to say 'definitely C'. But I'm not an english teacher. And even if I were, we're not back then when the teacher's word was _______ and could not be questioned. So I'm just going to suggest 'maybe C ?'...

You know what, I chose C too in the first place. But I was shock when I checked the key. A appears there. I thought that would be another trick that ETS tries to deceive test takers, so I post here. Now I would rather consider that as a typo.
