Hello. I wish to raise a query. Let's make an instance first:
Jimmy is sending Mary a song, and the progress bar is still in the middle. Jimmy wishes to hear Mary's reply of her impression towards the song, so which one would be apt to say:
1. Please let me know your impression after you have listened to it. (I have been using this all the time, but I realize that I may actually be wrong since present perfect tense is not meant to be used to describe the future event. Nonetheless, the reason that I thought it was correct was because I would place myself in the future point on the timeline where the action of listening to music has been done already. It's like looking back from the future, so I always applied the present perfect tense in this sort of request.)
2. Please let me know your impression after listening to it. (I believe that this is correct because noun is always one of the proper choices after a preposition, like "after" in this case. However, what should I do if I want to include an object in this sentence?)
3. Please let me know your impression after you finish listening to it.
Please kindly tell me which expression is correct, and if it is possible, please also add some explanation to aid my understanding.
