"After I'm there for a year", correct?

"After I'm there" sounds weird to me. On the other hand, English is not my first language, but still...sounds weird.
The sentence "After I've been there for a year..." vs. "After I'm there for a year" is what I'm talking about.
(Compare with; "When I've been there for a year" vs. "When I'm there for a year")

even though it actually makes more sense to say: after i will have been there for a year, im gonna get three weeks vacation, it is commonly used to say: after im there for a year........
