After having been...

Hello,

Please can you help.

'After having been ill, I am glad to go out for some fresh air.'

Does this mean I am still ill or I am no longer ill? Is it better to say:

Having been ill,... or Being ill, ....?

PS. I am not sure how grammatical the first sentence is either. I think it sounds wordy. Any advice on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou.
