Are these sentences correct:

1-After a certain age, you can't expect people not to become forgetful.

2-After forty years of work in their company, they dismissed James.

3-After forty years in their company, they dismissed James.

4-After working for them for forty years, they dismissed James.

I find your second suggestion awkward.

I think the first one would read more naturally if you switched "for 40 years" and "for them."
