After

Hello everyone,

Is "after" correct in the following sentence?

1. After returning to New York, Jack has decided to write a book about the work of "Polies".
Or must it be "since"?
2. Since returning to New York, Jack has decided to write a book about the work of "Polies".
If both are correct, please tell me.
Regards,

JA

I wouldn't say #1 is wrong, but #2 is better. Who or what is Polies ?
