Affirmatively/negatively

1. Is English, when someone answers 'yes' to a question, is it correct:



a) "Again, she answered affirmatively."


b) "Again, she replied affirmatively."




2. And while at this, is it correct in English to say the other way around, namely:



a) "She answered negatively."


b) "She replied negatively."

Those are OK, but the usual way we say them is answered/replied in the affirmative/negative Based on sentences found online: If you answer in the affirmative , you may qualify for more aid. Charlotte answered in the negative , but the woman continued to ask questions. I see no reason why this question should not be answered in the affirmative .
