Affect vs Effect in this sentence

Hello,

I'm needing a little help with my sentence. I'm not sure I'm using the correct word. Am I right in using "affect" in this sentence:

"Emulation of our surroundings is part of a natural learning experience; language and walking are affects of emulation."

Affect is the influence of something, which in this case, emulation affects the outcome of learning to walk and talk.

Thank you,
Michael
