advise people on

I've never seen 'advise on' in the dictionary. Is it correct?

I advise people on cream. I work for a brand that sells face cream.

Yes, advise ... on is a common construction. Generally I think it's used for a more specific subject - for example, "We hired a lawyer to advise us on the implications of copyright law for our project".
