Advice - uncountble or not

I thought that "ADVICE" is an uncountable noun. But I see it used in a plural form - ADVICES.

Recent diplomatic advices have been ominous.

Is it ok to use it in pl.?

Recent diplomatic advices have been ominous. I have the same reaction as you, although I think I may have heard it on rare occasions. I'll see if I can find anything.
