Advice needed

I've been learning/speaking English for quite a long time. According to my teachers (and myself) I have a very good command at it. However, I've lately been feeling a bit stuck, as if I wasn't satisfied with what I've accomplished, you know. I feel that I need to incorporate more new things, different ways of saying the same thing but do not seem to figure it out how.

Hey teachers, could you give me a piece of advice?

Reading is always good - especially a great variety of books, magazines, and newspapers.
Take down interesting new expressions and make an effort to use them at the earliest possible opportunity.
