advertise

Is it okay to say, "the doctor doesn't advertise a lot" or "the doctor doesn't advertise much"?

Any better suggestions?

Thanks,

I prefer much . I cannot think of another of that register. Something like extensively is also possible.

Hi,

As a cultural note, here in Canada, there are strict legal regulations that limit how much a doctor can advertise. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that most doctors don't advertise at all, other than their name and speciality.

I think this is probably also true, at least to some extent, in Britain. In the USA, I don't know the situation.

Best wishes, Clive

how about "the doctor avoids spreading the word through advertisement."
