The basic property of an adverb is to modify the verb. It says how something was done. The verb was "walk". So Slowly/ Hastily/ quickly/ hurriedly/ will each paint a picture how he was walking. It is not so much "matching" an adverb as to make a sentence sound logical and semantically correct. Learning how to use the correct adverb depends on your understanding of the adjective and your vocabuary.
