Adverbs position

If an adverb has to be before the verb, why do I always see people saying:

-I can see clearly

-I forget things easily

Shouldn't it be instead:

-I can clearly see

-I easily forget things

An adverb doesn't have to be before the verb!

The assertion upon which this question is based is false.

An adverb need not come before the verb, infact placement of the adverb in front of the verb sometimes sounds odd as it does in your first example.

"I can see clearly." = My sight is clear.

"I can clearly see." Means that a subject is well understood, but is rarely related to visual sight.

If you add an

-(X) I well feel -- Different adverbs have different freedoms of position; this one can go only after the linking verb.
