Adverbs

Hi Everyone,

Here are two sentences:

I'll go shopping later.

I'll go shopping now.


Why does "Now, I'll go shopping" sound better than "Later, I'll go shopping?"

I don't think you can just toss any adverb around in a sentence. Some adverbs clearly sound better at the end of a sentence than before it.

I'd love to know what others think about this.

I don't agree that it does.

The only comment that comes to mind is the example with 'later' in both positions.

About five years ago we always used to go shopping in the early morning.
Later we went later.
