Adverbs

Is it correct to finish a sentence with an adverb instead of an adjective: i.e. "drive home safely" instead of "drive home safe", or "finish strongly" instead of "sinish strong", "play it prettily" instead of "play it pretty"?

How should you play? You should play prettily.

These adverbs correctly describe how the action should be performed.

If you use an adjective, you need to be describing a noun, not an action. I am safe, it was a strong finish, the tune was pretty.
